Glossary
The words on the checkout, defined.
Short definitions for the language of course funnels. Each term has a page you can link from a sales letter or send to a new hire.
- Order bump
- A relevant add-on offered on the checkout page, before payment, usually with one checkbox.
- One-click upsell
- An offer shown after payment details are captured, so the buyer can accept without typing the card again.
- Evergreen deadline
- A scarcity deadline that starts for each person when they enter the funnel, instead of one clock shared by the whole list.
- Fulfilment
- What happens after payment to deliver the thing sold: enrolment, access, and revocation when the order changes.
- Cart abandonment
- A buyer who reaches checkout and leaves without paying. On a warm list this is usually friction or doubt, not a traffic problem.
- Value ladder
- A sequence of offers that moves a buyer from a first purchase to a deeper one, using trust the first sale already earned.
